Volunteer Information

ic differences include:

bulletVolunteers will provide and prepare their own food (local churches may provide some dinners).
bulletVolunteers will have either 1/2 day or a whole day off to enjoy local area attractions.
bulletThere will be only one flat fee per volunteer (ASP charges individual fees AND work crew fees).
bulletHOPE will not organize formal evening gatherings; however, group led events are welcomed.
bulletHOPE offers a relaxed atmosphere. After the work day is over, you are able to go and come as you please with many activities available for your enjoyment (some within minutes of where you will be staying).

Application and Fees

There is a group registration fee to secure your group's spot in HOPE's summer program.

There is a volunteer fee per person for one week, which includes lodging at HOPE's Volunteer Center and the cost of materials. At least 30% of the volunteer fee goes directly towards materials. The more volunteers we have, the higher the percentage of materials we can buy.

Application and fees information for the summer program will be posted in early Spring 2009.

Rules and Expectations

HOPE has established certain Rules and Expectations to make the Volunteer Service Program operate as smoothly and efficiently as possible. All volunteers MUST read and abide by these Rules and Expectations.

Area Attractions

Southwest Virginia offers many recreational and historical attractions for volunteers to enjoy during their visit. Hiking, biking and nature activities abound.
